Activities

Being active and building community is a core tenant of what we are about. If we do anything, we want to encourage you to turn off your computer, get on your bike and go for a ride. Our activities listed below are intended to make that easy, fun and rewarding.

Tales From the Trails – Everyone has a story to tell and we want you to share it live with others. Our inaugural storytelling event in July 2023 was a huge success and we will be back in 2024 with more. Keep an eye out for an announcement soliciting stories from anyone who is willing to share. Click here for upcoming details. Of course, everyone is invited to attend, listen and enjoy the day of the event.

Community Rides – Group rides in an around Skokie exploring what our community has to offer along low stress, family friendly bike routes. In addition to Skokie specific destinations, we venture off to neighboring communities, nearby trails and fun events.

Farmer’s Market Bike Valet – We drop by the Farmer’s Market several times a year to offer a free valet bike parking and a chance to connect directly with friends and neighbors. Stop by, say hello and chat for a while.

Local Infrastructure Projects – Monitoring local developments that impact (mostly benefit) cycling. Keep tabs on developments in our community, participate in public comments, and encourage support for bike friendly projects.

Bike Route Bash – Consult this route library of the best ways to get to and from Skokie’s Backlot Bash (and Village Hall, the library, farmer’s market and other downtown Skokie destinations). Let us know if you have a favorite route to include among our suggestions.

Ok. Enough trolling, now get rolling! Enjoy! 🙂
